Sara's is a family owned operation.  The Inn was opened in August of 1986 by Donna and Tillman Arledge, and then purchased by their daughter and son-in-law Connie and Bob McCreight in 1998. The Inn is named after Connie's little sister, Sara.

Bob and Connie purchased the Inn in 1998 when their children were just 2 and 10, they are now 14 and 22.  It was a struggle at first having the demands of two young children, but they both have learned so much about the business world and people in general.  Our youngest, Michael even likes to answer the phones and check in guests on occasion.  Bob, in addition to running the Inn, lists and sells real estate for Better Homes & Gardens - Anderson Properties, which sells mainly properties in the Heights, Garden Oaks and surrounding Inner Loop properties.

We do not live in the Inn so our guests have complete privacy, but we do live on site in the Carriage House in the event our guests need anything, and our newest family addition is our 4 year old Jack Russell/Fox Terrier mix dog named Rocky the Rock Star.

The Inn has gone thru several updates over the years.  When we purchased the Inn in 1998, we both had been in the business world, traveled to several nice hotels and knew what we wanted to offer our guests that would fuse the charm of an Inn as well as a small elegant hotel.  One thing very important to us is having an extremely nice mattress, all are top of the line Serta Executive Suite mattresses.  We offer our guests in room amenities such as LCD TV's, mini fridge, robe, hair dryer, white duvet, down blankets, and down pillows.  The Inn is decorated in natural color hues with accents of white.  We offer 24/7 on demand coffee service and wireless DSL.  All of the rooms offer a private bath.  We are an Urban Inn, and offer many of the same amenities as a hotel. 

We run the Inn in a non-invasive way to ensure our guests privacy.  We are happy to assist our guests as needed, we are always just a phone call away, and are always willing to chat.
